TikTok, a massive social media platform, continues to advance as a market leader by adding new features and technology every year. Its upcoming move appears to involve entering the expanding live shopping business. Prior ecommerce integration from the app has made it simpler for enterprises to conduct business with clients, but this initiative goes a step further. The announcement of this latest development in the study of live shopping coincides with Facebook’s announcement of the imminent shutdown of its site.
Previous attempts to integrate live shopping into TikTok were unsuccessful in the UK and Asia. The Financial Times says that TikTok is in discussions to outsource the platform’s integration with California-based TalkShopLive as the company now turns its attention to the US. Fans can watch live broadcasts of goods from independent and brand businesses via livestreams, which offer real-time shopping alternatives.
Although a contract with TalkShopLive has not yet been signed, the new function might be made accessible in the US shortly thanks to outsourcing the technology’s development.
